RSPCA PROSECUTE THEIR FORMER KEEPER

In the wake of the recent Pat Seager prosecution case that was severely criticised by MP Frank Field. We ask, is this part of an overall RSPCA strategy to prosecute animal lovers who take in stray and unwanted animals ?

A well respected dog breeder who looked after rescue dogs for the RSPCA has been banned from keeping animals indefinitely.
Kennel owner Joyce Denwood, 43, took in animals for the animal charity and councils, a court heard.

RSPCA inspectors allegedly discovered animals in appalling conditions when they raided her home in March.
Joyce was banned from keeping animals indefinitely and must wait at least a year before applying to have the ban lifted.
Denwood must also do 120 hours’ unpaid work and pay £1,750 RSPCA costs. The charity claimed the case cost them almost £5,800.

This seems like a sad case. The lady obviously cares about animals but just took on more than she could cope with. I well remember about twenty odd years ago a chap who lived around the corner from me in Newtown used to have about 16 cats. They'd all wait outside his house for him to come home. Then the RSPCA came and took them all away, possibly to be put down I don't know. But bless his heart. He was doing his best for them. I personally have known of a feral cat and her kittens reported to the RSPCA and they offered a cage to catch them to have them put down! Naturally it was refused. We ended up catching them and farming them out to friends who felt they could help. And with lots of hard work and love they are now lovely pets. But if that's the help that's on offer I can understand why people try to go it alone and fail.

I think you'll find the RSPCA are very quick to have animals put down. Unfortunately they're not quite as animal friendly as they would have you believe

I have known Joyce Denwood for years, she is a lovely lady and thourghly respecatble, she has always taken excellent care of her dogs, acnt understand why the RSPCA would have prosecuted her, or why she would pleade guilty, she would never harm her animals !!!!

I used to work at an RSPCA kennels on a volounteer basis, I packed it in because of the politics that was going on all the time, it sound to me like this lady has upset someone at some point in time ! from what I saw when I wasa there they would beat a confession out of anybody.

I read the background to this case , apparently mrs Denwood was suffering from depression and had other difficulties. A prosecutor should take these factors into account and not just "go for the kill" as the RSPCA seem to have done here. I am sure the CPS wouldnt have prosecuted, very Christian of you RSPCA !

as much as i hate rspca and their politics, the denwood case was justified....woman is outright puppy farmer and there have been numerous complaints from naive buyers
